Finding suppliers is easy. Finding the actual factory behind an English company name, copied product image, sales profile, or shipment record is the difficult part.

To learn how to find Chinese manufacturers, search the same product across several platforms. Use English for global databases and simplified Chinese for local platforms. Record the Chinese legal company name, website, address, product focus, factory evidence, and contact details, then cross-check them before requesting a quotation.

The 16 methods below are limited to the platforms and search channels defined in the source brief.

How to Find Chinese Manufacturers Online

Use This 7-Step Factory Search Process

  1. Define the Product
Use the exact product name, material, specification, and application.
  2. Find Potential Companies
Search across marketplaces, search engines, social platforms, and exhibitor databases.
  3. Record the Chinese Legal Name
Save the company’s full registered Chinese name, not only its English brand.
  4. Check the Registration Record
Review the company in QCC for status, address, business scope, and registration details.
  5. Review the Official Website
Compare the legal name, contact details, product range, and factory address.
  6. Check Factory Evidence
Look for production videos, machinery, workshop images, exhibitor records, and shipment data.
  7. Contact the Company Directly
Ask product-specific questions and confirm who controls the production facility.

No single platform proves that a supplier owns a factory. Cross-check the company name, address, product focus, and contact details across at least two independent sources before adding it to your shortlist.

Prepare Your Factory Search Keywords

Do not start with a broad phrase such as electronics manufacturer China. Build each query from four parts:

  1. Exact product name
  2. Material, specification, or application
  3. Manufacturer or factory keyword
  4. Manufacturing city when relevant

Use the China manufacturing cities guide to identify locations associated with the product before adding a city to the query.

English Search Templates

GoalSearch Template

Find OEM suppliersproduct + OEM manufacturer + China
Find catalogsproduct + factory + filetype:pdf

Chinese Search Templates

Chinese SearchMeaning
产品名称 + 厂家Product name + manufacturer
产品名称 + 工厂Product name + factory
产品名称 + 生产厂家Product name + producer
产品名称 + 源头工厂Product name + source factory
产品名称 + 生产线Product name + production line
产品名称 + 公司官网Product name + official website
产品名称 + 城市 + 工厂Product name + city + factory

Replace 产品名称 with the precise Chinese product name. Add material, voltage, capacity, production process, or application when the search results are too broad.

Search Chinese Platforms and Social Networks

1. Search Manufacturers on 1688

How to access: Open 1688 on desktop or use the 1688 mobile app. Login may be required to view complete company information or contact sellers.

Search using the exact Chinese product name. Try:

  • 产品名称 + 厂家
  • 产品名称 + 源头工厂
  • 产品名称 + 定制
  • 产品名称 + OEM

Use image search when you have a product photo but do not know the Chinese name. The current 1688 interface supports image-based product discovery and factory-focused searches.

Open the company page and record its Chinese name, location, product categories, business profile, transaction activity, and factory-related information.

Search shortcut: Prefer sellers focused on one connected product family. A shop offering unrelated categories may be a reseller or trading company.

Main limitation: A marketplace label or seller claim does not prove factory ownership. Check the legal company name in QCC.

2. Search Factory Websites with Baidu

How to access: Open Baidu and search in simplified Chinese. Baidu also provides an official advanced-search page.

Use:

  • 产品名称 + 工厂
  • 产品名称 + 生产厂家
  • 产品名称 + 城市 + 厂家
  • 产品名称 + 有限公司
  • 产品名称 + 公司官网

Add a manufacturing city to remove generic marketplace results. For example:

工业交换机 + 深圳 + 生产厂家

Use site: to search a known domain and filetype: to find catalogs:

  • 产品名称 site:company.cn
  • 产品名称 filetype:pdf

Baidu’s official search documentation supports site-restricted and file-type searches.

Search shortcut: Search the company’s Chinese telephone number or address in quotation marks. This can reveal old websites, exhibition pages, directories, and related company names.

3. Verify Companies with QCC

How to access: Open QCC, also called 企查查, or use its mobile app. Search the exact Chinese legal company name rather than the English export name.

Review:

  • Registration status
  • Establishment date
  • Legal representative
  • Registered address
  • Business scope
  • Shareholders
  • Unified Social Credit Code
  • Website and contact records, when available

QCC accepts searches by company name, person, brand, address, and business scope. It compiles company and risk information from public Chinese data sources.

Look in the business scope for manufacturing terms such as:

  • 生产 — production
  • 制造 — manufacturing
  • 加工 — processing

Search shortcut: Compare the QCC address with the supplier’s invoice, website, 1688 profile, and factory location.

Main limitation: Registration data does not prove that the company currently owns machinery or operates the displayed facility.

4. Find Factory Videos on Douyin

How to access: Open Douyin or use the 抖音 mobile app. The mobile version usually provides the most complete account and content experience.

Search:

  • 产品名称 + 工厂
  • 产品名称 + 生产线
  • 产品名称 + 厂家
  • 产品名称 + 源头工厂
  • 产品名称 + 生产车间

Douyin search can return videos, image posts, live content, and user accounts related to the Chinese keyword.

Review several months of uploads. Look for consistent products, repeated machinery, workshop layouts, packaging lines, staff, and company signage.

Search shortcut: Add the likely city, such as 产品名称 + 东莞 + 工厂, to find local accounts.

Main limitation: A factory video may be reposted or filmed during a supplier visit. Search the account name and company name in QCC and Baidu.

5. Search WeChat Channels

How to access: Install WeChat. Open Search or go to Discover → Channels. The menu location may vary by version and account region.

WeChat Channels is called 微信视频号. Search the Chinese product name with:

  • 工厂 — factory
  • 厂家 — manufacturer
  • 生产线 — production line
  • 源头工厂 — source factory
  • 生产车间 — production workshop

Weixin Search connects users to accounts, content, and services inside the WeChat ecosystem, while Channels provides video content for individuals and companies.

Inspect the account name, profile, city, linked company information, older videos, and contact method.

Search shortcut: Request the company’s full Chinese legal name before moving the conversation to pricing.

Main limitation: A Channels account or production video is evidence to investigate, not proof of ownership.

6. Find Industry Contacts Through WeChat Groups

How to access: Open WeChat and join groups through a member invitation, event organizer, shared QR code, supplier referral, association, or existing industry contact.

Search or request groups using:

  • 产品名称行业群 — product industry group
  • 产品名称厂家群 — manufacturer group
  • 产品名称供应链群 — supply-chain group
  • 城市 + 行业群 — city + industry group

WeChat groups are relationship-based channels rather than a complete public manufacturer directory. In practice, useful groups are usually reached through introductions, events, and QR codes rather than broad public search.

Search shortcut: Ask group members for the Chinese legal name and official website, not only a salesperson’s WeChat ID.

Main limitation: A recommendation can come from an agent, reseller, or paid introducer. Confirm the recommender’s relationship with the company.

Search Global Platforms and Search Engines

7. Search Chinese Manufacturers with Google

How to access: Open Google and use exact product, factory, location, and document terms.

Try:

  • product + manufacturer + China
  • product + factory + China
  • "exact product" + OEM + China
  • product + manufacturer + Shenzhen
  • product + factory + filetype:pdf
  • product + manufacturer + site:.cn

Google officially supports quotation marks for exact phrases, site: for specific domains, filetype: for documents, and minus signs for excluding terms.

Search shortcut: Remove marketplace-heavy results with negative keywords:

product manufacturer China -Alibaba -Amazon

Search discovered email addresses, telephone numbers, model codes, and Chinese company names separately.

PDF catalogs, manuals, certificates, patents, and exhibition documents often reveal a legal company name that is missing from the homepage.

8. Use Google Images Reverse Search

How to access: Open Google Images or right-click an image in Chrome and select Search with Google Lens.

Upload a product photo, crop the distinctive item, and remove backgrounds, logos, or decorative packaging where possible. Google Lens allows users to select part of an image and add keywords to refine the search.

Look for:

  • Earlier copies of the image
  • 1688 product pages
  • Chinese catalogs
  • Model numbers
  • Packaging text
  • Brand names
  • Repeated factory photographs

Search shortcut: Run separate searches for the product, packaging label, instruction manual, and factory image.

Main limitation: The company using an image first is not necessarily the manufacturer. Images can be supplied by designers, brands, distributors, or other sellers.

9. Find Factory Employees on LinkedIn

How to access: Open LinkedIn, enter a keyword, and filter results by People, Companies, or Posts.

Search:

  • product manufacturer China
  • product factory China
  • sales manager + product factory
  • export manager product China
  • company name sales manager

LinkedIn supports keyword and conversational searches across people, companies, posts, groups, and products. Company searches can also be filtered by location, industry, and company size.

Review several employees from the same company. Compare their city, company domain, product focus, employment history, and exhibition posts.

Search shortcut: Search the English company name together with a Chinese city. This can separate similarly named businesses.

Main limitation: Employment information is user-provided and may be old, incomplete, or inaccurate.

10. Search Factory Videos on TikTok

How to access: Open TikTok or its mobile app. Search under videos, users, and hashtags.

Use:

  • China factory + product
  • product manufacturing China
  • product production line
  • OEM factory + product
  • how product is made in China

TikTok search covers videos, creators, hashtags, and related content. Results are influenced by the search query and user context.

Inspect profile links, captions, company names, packaging, machinery, worker uniforms, trade-fair posts, and location clues.

Search shortcut: Search a visible telephone number, domain, brand, or company sign outside TikTok.

Main limitation: A popular video may belong to a marketer, sourcing agent, distributor, or content creator rather than the factory.

11. Trace Product Clues Through Amazon Listings

How to access: Open Amazon and search for a close match to the product you want to source.

Extract:

  • Brand name
  • Model number
  • Seller or storefront name
  • Packaging text
  • Product dimensions
  • Manual wording
  • Certification references
  • Distinctive images

Amazon product detail pages can contain product titles, descriptions, images, documents, and multiple seller offers. Product manuals may also be attached to listings.

Search each clue on Google, Google Images, Baidu, 1688, QCC, ImportYeti, and Panjiva.

Search shortcut: Copy one unusual sentence from the manual or product description and search it in quotation marks.

Main limitation: The Amazon brand owner, seller, importer, distributor, and manufacturer may be different companies.

12. Search Chinese Factory Websites Directly

How to access: Use Google or Baidu to locate the company domain, then open the official website directly.

Check:

  • Full Chinese legal name
  • Factory and office addresses
  • Product specialization
  • Workshop and equipment pages
  • Catalogs and manuals
  • Certificate holder names
  • Domain-based email
  • Telephone numbers
  • Chinese ICP registration number

Use:

  • site:companydomain.com product
  • site:companydomain.com filetype:pdf
  • "Chinese legal name" + address
  • "telephone number"
  • 产品名称 + 公司官网

For a mainland Chinese website, check the domain through the official MIIT ICP filing system.

Search shortcut: Compare the domain registrant or ICP entity with the company name in QCC.

Main limitation: A professional website can belong to a trading company or marketing entity.

Search Trade Data and Exhibitor Databases

13. Find Suppliers with ImportYeti

How to access: Open ImportYeti and search a known US buyer, importer, competitor, brand, supplier name, or address.

Review:

  • Supplier names
  • Customer relationships
  • Product descriptions
  • Shipment frequency
  • Shipment dates
  • Alternative names and addresses

ImportYeti builds its search from public US customs sea-shipment records. Its FAQ states that air and land records are not included and some companies may use different names or request confidentiality.

Search shortcut: Start with a known importing brand, then trace repeated suppliers associated with the target product.

Search the supplier name in QCC, Baidu, Google, and LinkedIn.

Main limitation: The listed shipper may be a manufacturer, exporter, trading company, freight intermediary, or affiliated entity.

14. Research Shipment Records with Panjiva

How to access: Open Panjiva Search. Basic results may be visible publicly, while deeper shipment data and analysis can require a subscription.

Search by:

  • Company name
  • Product description
  • Supplier
  • Buyer
  • Location
  • HS or HTS code

Panjiva provides searches across companies and global trade records and can show supplier, buyer, product, and shipment relationships depending on data coverage and access level.

Search shortcut: Compare shipment frequency and product consistency. Repeated exports in one product family are more informative than one unrelated shipment.

Search name variations because English transliterations of Chinese entities can differ.

Main limitation: Trade activity proves a commercial relationship, not ownership of the production facility.

15. Search the Canton Fair Exhibitor List

How to access: Open the official Canton Fair website and use its search or exhibitor directory. Registration or login may be required for some details.

Search by:

  • Product
  • Exhibitor
  • Booth
  • Exhibition phase
  • Product category

The Canton Fair’s official guide states that buyers can search exhibits, exhibitors, and booths and filter results by exhibition phase.

Record the exhibitor name, product category, booth number, website, and contact details. Then search the Chinese legal name in QCC and Baidu.

Search shortcut: Search the booth number and company name together on Google. Old fair catalogs and announcements may reveal historical participation.

Main limitation: Exhibitors can be manufacturers, exporters, brand owners, or trading companies.

16. Search the Yiwu Fair Exhibitor Database

How to access: Open the official Yiwu Fair exhibitor directory or its product search. Exhibitor lists may be published closer to the event date.

Search by:

  • Product category
  • Product name
  • Exhibitor name
  • Company profile
  • Fair edition

The official Yiwu Fair site provides exhibitor and product search areas, although availability depends on the current fair cycle.

Extract the Chinese and English company names, product range, website, contact details, and booth information. Cross-check the Chinese name through QCC, Baidu, 1688, or Google.

Search shortcut: Prioritize companies with a coherent product range rather than many unrelated categories.

Main limitation: Exhibition participation does not confirm factory ownership or current production capacity.

How to Cross-Check a Potential Manufacturer

Use this workflow after finding a possible factory:

  1. Record the English company name.
  2. Obtain the exact Chinese legal name.
  3. Search the legal name in QCC.
  4. Compare registered, office, and factory addresses.
  5. Review the website and main product range.
  6. Check exhibitor, shipment, employee, and video evidence.
  7. Compare telephone numbers, domains, and email addresses.
  8. Ask product-specific manufacturing questions.
  9. Create a shortlist before requesting samples or quotations.

For higher-value orders, use an independent inspection company in China to confirm the facility, production status, product quality, or shipment before final payment.

Common Factory Search Mistakes

  • Searching only in English: Translate the product and technical specifications into Chinese.
  • Using broad keywords: Add material, application, specification, and manufacturing city.
  • Trusting one platform: Compare the company across independent sources.
  • Confusing suppliers with factories: Confirm where production occurs and who owns the equipment.
  • Treating videos as proof: Match the account, address, legal entity, and factory details.
  • Ignoring Chinese legal names: English marketing names may not match registration records.
  • Trusting marketplace labels: Use company and production evidence outside the marketplace.
  • Searching only by company name: Search addresses, phone numbers, images, models, staff, and domains.
  • Sending vague inquiries: Provide product specifications, quantity, material, and required standards.
  • Treating shipment data as proof: Exporters and intermediaries also appear in customs records.

Found a Manufacturer? Check Pickup and Shipping Requirements

After shortlisting a manufacturer, collect the factory pickup city, product name, carton quantity, gross weight, carton dimensions, destination country, and destination postcode.

Disclose batteries, liquids, magnets, powders, branded products, and other restricted characteristics before requesting freight pricing. DDPCHAIN can evaluate pickup and suitable shipping options after the supplier provides final packing information.
